This organization has been a long time in the making. The idea was born in 2017, right along with my first daughter. As I went through life and had my 2nd daughter, the idea of it has only manifested and become a more obvious priority in my life. To explain what this organization is and what we do I want to start by first explaining the logo; the image at the very forefront of this organization. Its a pretty personal image that I dreamed about, worked on, prayed about, and recreated for years.
First, we have the 3 people. There is a woman in the center, naked before God. She has laid herself bare before the King that knows all and controls all. She is completely surrendered to her God. Then, there are 2 girls on each side. All 3 images are crowned as Children of the Most High God. All 3 are praying because without prayer and constant communication with our God, we can do nothing.
When I say this is a personal image, I really mean it. I had originally designed this image to be nothing more than a tattoo to represent myself and my girls, but God had bigger plans. The woman in the middle is myself, the young girl on the left is my youngest daughter, Genesis. The older girl on the right, as portrayed by her slight height difference and hair length is my oldest, Athena. I drew them age wise as they were sitting in front of me. Genesis was about 2 and Athena was 3.
While the images originally represented myself and my girls, they are faceless. They are faceless because they could be anyone. They could be any mother and her children. Any mother that is working to "Do It" for her children. "It" can be anything. "It" can be working 2 and 3 jobs to be able to provide for her children. "It" can be sitting in silence after she has put them to bed just to grasp the smallest amount of peace before she opens up her computer to finish yet another college assignment. "It" can be saying no to that toy in the store because even though she wishes she could buy them the world, she knows that her money is needed for rent. The "It" defines so much of who mothers are, and who they can be for their children.
Our Mission
Our mission at Do It For The Babies is to support and equip mothers with the resources they need to succeed while spreading the love of Jesus to the new generations.
We love mothers! We believe that they have so much to offer not only their children, but the world. Often times, mothers struggle, and they lose hope. They lose hope in their ability to be good mothers, in their ability to provide for their children, and they lose hope in the notion that things can get better. We are here to support these mothers and let them know that things will get better. We are here to help them reach their goals. We are here to celebrate and mourn with them. We are here for the overwhelming tantrums and the unprompted cuddles. We are here for the questions and the concerns. We are here to care for and nurture both bodies and souls; both mother and child. We are here to share our story and help them share their's. We are here to break painful habits and start new ones that will light a spark that no one can dim. We are here to share the hope that so many mothers have found in relying on not only each other, but also in the power that we have in Christ Jesus. We are his children. We are chosen. We are mothers. When it all comes down to it, we do it for the babies.
